Your questions are unique, but here are frequently asked.

How do you create a list of causes to support?

Our list is designed to capture the causes that people most care about at any given point in time. We update the list regularly to reflect our changing world, and we’re happy to hear suggestions on causes that we may have overlooked.

I'd like to volunteer, how can I join?

Fantastic! We’re always looking for extra sets of hands, so if you’re interested in helping us help the world, send your resume to info@ruthlessgiving.org

How do you decide which charities to fund?

Once our members have decided the causes the Foundation should support, and the degree of that support, we rigorously evaluate charities, giving to only the most reputable and effective organizations that work on the specific causes we’ve identified.

Can I donate publicly traded stocks, real estate, life insurance or cryptocurrency?

Yes, you can donate all of the above by contacting us at info@ruthlessgiving.org or with a via our contact form below

Do you have fees?

Unlike other charities, People’s Foundation does not have fees (apart from transactional fees on credit card donations.) We operate through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), and all fees are covered by a handful of generous sponsors. That means that every dollar you give will be used to do good!

How does the People's Foundation raise money?

People's Foundation raises money from institutions and individuals who share our mission to change the world in the most effective and productive way.

Can I withdraw my funds back into my bank account?

We’re afraid not. As soon as a donation receipt is provided, the contribution becomes tax exempt, and cannot be withdrawn.

Why do you believe this model works?

We believe that individual perspective, as well intentioned as it can be, is not enough. By including more voices in a democratic way, we get a more rounded view of the most pressing issues in the world.

Is the People's Foundation a registered charity?

People's Foundation holds funds within a registered charity (or Donor Advised Fund.) You can think of us as a branch of a larger charity, which is registered as a Charitable Impact foundation with the Canada Revenue Agency (registration number: 845528827RR0001.)

Is my contribution tax deductible?

It sure is! Your tax receipt will be emailed to you as soon as your donation is processed.

What do you do with my email?

Participants are the most important cogs in the People’s Foundation machine. We rely on your feedback to direct our funds, and we collect that feedback via email. Don’t worry: we don’t share your email with third parties or the charities we fund!
